Nottingham Forest FC: green light from authorities for the redevelopment of the stadium's main stand

Nottingham Forest FC (Premier League) have been given the green light by the Rushcliffe Borough Council Planning Committee (south of Nottingham, ENG) "for planning permission to redevelop the main stand on the City Ground (30,445 capacity) site," announced the club on 28/07/2022. The club intends to demolish the existing Peter Taylor Stand (approximately 5,000 seats) and rebuild a new stand with double the capacity, 10,000 seats, thus increasing the total capacity of the stadium to 35,000.

In addition to the increase in seating capacity, the project launched by the club in 2019 includes new changing rooms, a museum, an official shop and new hospitality and media areas. The inauguration of the new stand was initially envisaged for the end of the 2023-24 season. The total budget is £94m (€112m as of 02/08/2022) according to local media.
