Tennis: Explore Asheville, official partner of the 2022 US Open in the "tourism" category

Explore Asheville, a brand of the North Carolina-based city's tourism office, has become the "official tourism partner" of the 2022 US Open, announced the United States Tennis Association (USTA), organiser of the Grand Slam tournament on 02/08/2022.

"This partnership with the US Open will shine a spotlight on Asheville through on-court signage in Arthur Ashe Stadium (central court, 23,000 capacity), videoboards at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center and marketing messages on usopen.org and US Open Radio," explained the body. Asheville will also serve as the title sponsor of the "evening sessions" ("Asheville Night").

The value of this partnership is estimated at $2.5m per year (€2.4m), according to US media reports the same day. Explore Asheville replaces the Bermuda Tourism Authority (Bermuda), official partner of the US Open during the 2019, 2020 and 2021 editions in the "tourism" category.

• The 2022 edition of the US Open will be held at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park located within the USTA National Tennis Center in New York (USA) from 29/08 to 11/09/2022.
