Top 5: Serie A clubs the most dependent on TV revenue in 2012-13, Bundesliga the least dependent

The Serie A TIM distributed €846.1m in broadcasting revenue to its 20 clubs in 2012-13, 47.7% of the combined turnover of the 20 clubs during the same season (€1.772bn). This percentage is the highest of the Top 5 European leagues.

The Barclays Premier League, which distributed the highest amount of broadcasting revenue to its 20 clubs in 2012-13 (€1.13bn) is second in terms of the percentage of broadcasting revenue in cumulative turnover (37.8%). Ligue 1 (37.7%) and Liga BBVA (37.2%) are about the same percentage as the Premier League, but with significantly less broadcasting revenue distributed in 2012-13 (€489m in Ligue 1, €775.5m in Liga BBVA). The Bundesliga is the league that is the least reliant on broadcasting revenue in its overall turnover, with €412.8m in TV rights revenue comprising only 19% of the league's cumulative turnover in 2012-13 (€2.17bn).
