Italy: Sky signs an agreement to distribute DAZN from 08/08/2022

The pay-TV operator Sky Italia has signed a distribution agreement, in Italy, with the sports streaming platform DAZN, which will be effective on 08/08/2022, announced the two organisations on 04/08/2022.

There will be two different distribution methods:
• DAZN and Sky subscribers will have access to the DAZN application via the Sky Q multimedia platform available via internet or satellite;
• Sky will offer a linear channel ("ZONA DAZN") which will include the seven games per matchday of Serie A TIM broadcast exclusively on DAZN (the other three are co-broadcast by Sky Italia and DAZN) and "selected programs" (original DAZN documentaries).

This agreement was made possible after the exclusive agreement for the 2021-2024 broadcasting rights to the Serie A TIM between DAZN and TIM, a brand of the telecommunications operator Telecom Italia, was renegotiated to become non-exclusive from the 2022-23 season.
