Sponsorship: major changes among the 20 Premier League clubs for the 2022-23 season

The 2022-23 Premier League season begins this Friday, 05/08/2022, with 48 new sponsorship deals among the 20 participating clubs (as of 04/08/2022), compared to 187 for the entire 2021-22 season. In total, shirt sponsors and equipment suppliers are paying €741.6m to the Premier League clubs in 2022-23 (26 known amounts from 39 contracts).

With five clubs under contract (compared to four in 2021-22) adidas remains the most represented equipment supplier in the 2022-23 Premier League, ahead of Nike (four clubs), with whom it shared this position in the previous season. Three agreements expire at the end of 2022-23, while two others begin this season: Castore's deal with Aston Villa FC and Crystal Palace FC's contract with Macron. 

The total value of the Premier League clubs' equipment supplier contracts is €405.7m (out of 13 known amounts), or an average of €31.2m. Two of the three most lucrative deals were made by adidas, with Manchester United FC (2015-2025, €83.8m/season) and Arsenal FC (2019-2024, €68.3m/season).
