Manchester City FC, the 2021-22 and 2020-21 English champions, will put their title back on the line from Friday 05/08/2022, when the 2022-23 Premier League season kicks off.

The Mancunian club will try to retain their title against many ambitious opponents, starting with Liverpool FC who beat them (3-1) in the Community Shield on 30/07/2022. Chelsea FC and Tottenham Hotspur FC will join these two teams in the group stage of the Champions League. Arsenal FC and Manchester United FC have qualified for the Europa League, while West Ham United FC will compete in the play-offs of the Europa Conference League in an attempt to reach the group stage.
