Borussia Dortmund: fans and families invited to attend a special day to begin the 2022-23 season

Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) organised a special day for the club's fans and families ("BVB Family Celebration Day") to celebrate the beginning of the 2022-23 season on 31/07/2022. Such an event had not been held in Dortmund (GER) since 2019 due to Covid-19 restrictions.

In the morning, 10,000 people gathered at the city's central square (Hansaplatz), where a podium and various activities (football, table tennis, esports, etc.) had been set up. The festivities then continued in the afternoon at Signal Iduna Park, for which 65,000 tickets had been reserved. It was an opportunity for the club to pay tribute to several players who won the Bundesliga title with BVB during its last three seasons (1997, 2002 and 2012), and also to present the 2022-23 squad. Some members of its football academy, its women's football and handball teams, its table tennis section and its esports team were also present.
