Premier League: Tottenham reach €63.7 million agreement to begin work on its new stadium

Tottenham Hotspur (Barclays Premier League) signed a contract with the British group Anderson Construction Ltd to build the foundation and superstructure of its future stadium, the club announced 04/10/2014.

Tottenham want to build a 56,000-seater enclosure partially located on the land currently occupied by the White Hart Lane stadium (capacity 36,200). The contract was approved by the district council of Haringey (London). It is estimated at £50m (€63.7m). The urban project also includes the creation of a school, hundreds of homes and a shopping center. Tottenham hope to inaugurate the new stadium in 2018.

In search of a stadium for the 2017-18 season

• Tottenham has acquired 7.3 hectares around its stadium to build the new enclosure.
• The club is looking for a tempoary stadium solution for the 2017-18 season, the time to complete the construction work.
• Tottenham could play at Wembley Stadium (capacity 90,000) or Boleyn Ground (capacity 35,000), the stadium that West Ham United will leave once they move to the Olympic Stadium in London (capacity 54,000) in the summer of 2016.
