Eintracht Frankfurt - FC Bayern Munich (1-6), the opening match of the 2022-23 Bundesliga season, drew an average of 5.24 million viewers during the first half and 6.13 million during the second half, on the German free and private TV channel Sat.1, on Friday 05/08/2022 (kick-off at 20:30 CET), according to data from the audience measurement institute AGF.

These figures represented an audience share of 21.7% during the first half and 26.2% during the second half, and ranked the channel first in the German audiovisual market at prime time on 05/08/2022.

The match was also broadcast on the OTT platform DAZN, whose audience figures were not communicated.

The opening match of the 2021-22 Bundesliga season between Bayern Munich and Borussia Mönchengladbach (1-1), also broadcast free-to-air on Sat.1, had drawn an average of 5.16 million viewers on Friday 13/08/2021 (kick-off at 20:30 CET), according to AGF. Audience share: 22.3%.
