Manchester City FC: Asahi (JPN) succeeds Heineken as official beer partner from 2022-23

Asahi, a Japanese beer brand, has become a global partner and the "official beer partner" of four clubs belonging to City Football Group, including Manchester City FC (Premier League) from the 2022-23 season, announced the English club on 05/08/2022. This agreement also covers three other clubs: Melbourne City FC (Isuzu UTE A-League), Yokohama F. Marinos (J-League) and Sichuan Juiniu (Chinese Super League).

To celebrate this partnership, Asahi and former club players (Shaun Wright-Phillips and Shaun Goater) sailed a boat "referencing the symbolic ship featured on the club crest, ‘The Pride of Manchester City’, down the Manchester Ship Canal with a special shipment of Asahi Super Dry."

The Japanese beers will be served in all catering areas of the Etihad Stadium (Manchester, UK). Asahi succeeds Heineken, the Mancunian club's official beer supplier in the UK between 1996-97 and 2021-22.
