United States: ESPN extends its broadcasting rights to the DFB-Pokal and the Carabao Cup

ESPN (The Walt Disney Company) has extended its exclusive broadcasting rights, in the United States, to the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) and the Carabao Cup for several seasons, announced the American pay-TV bouquet on 09/08/2022.

• The exclusive broadcasting rights to the DFB-Pokal include the broadcast of at least 40 matches of the competition in English on the ESPN+ streaming platform until 2025-26. Some matches will also be broadcast on the ESPN TV channels and on ESPN+ in English and Spanish. ESPN had already extended its broadcasting rights to the DFB-Pokal in the United States over the 2018-2022 and 2014-2018 cycles.

• The exclusive broadcasting rights to the Carabao Cup include the broadcast of at least 30 matches of the competition in English and Spanish on ESPN+ for several seasons, starting from 2022-23. The agreement also includes the rights to at least 182 matches from other EFL competitions (Sky Bet Championship, Sky Bet League One and Sky Bet League Two) compared to 125 matches under the previous deal. Some of these matches will also be broadcast on the ESPN TV channels.
