Spain / RCD Mallorca: "Visit Mallorca Estadi" stadium's naming extended to 2022-23 for €1.5m

The City of Palma (ESP) has signed a partnership agreement with the Council of the Island of Mallorca to extend the naming agreement for RCD Mallorca's (LaLiga Santander) home stadium, the 'Visit Mallorca Estadi' (23,142 capacity) for the 2022-23 season, announced the Spanish club on 10/08/2022.

With this naming agreement, "€1.5m (€1.8m including tax) will be spent on promoting the island as a sustainable sports destination and thereby combating seasonal tourism." "This amount will be paid in two installments. An initial payment in 2022 will bring in almost €750,000 to the club from the Council of Mallorca. Another €500,000 will come from the government of the Balearic Islands and a further €250,000 from the Palma City Council in June 2023," according to the local daily Diario de Mallorca.

RCD Mallorca had renamed the Son Moix Stadium after the 'Visit Mallorca' brand free of charge "in order to promote the island of Mallorca (ESP) internationally and limit the effects of the Covid-19 crisis on local tourism" on 10/06/2020. The stadium had since retained this name.
