Ligue 1/AJ Auxerre: Baptiste Malherbe appointed president after the departure of James Zhou

Baptiste Malherbe, managing director of AJ Auxerre (promoted to Ligue 1 Uber Eats), is now the club's executive president, said James Zhou, owner of AJ Auxerre, to the French regional daily L'Yonne Républicaine on 16/08/2022, thus confirming several French media reports.

The official appointment of Baptiste Malherbe comes a week after James Zhou announced that he would be stepping down as president of the club (a position he had held since May 2021), hoping for a French replacement to take over as soon as possible.

Baptiste Malherbe had joined AJ Auxerre in 2006 as the head of marketing and communication before being promoted to deputy director in 2010. After joining FC Lorient for a few months in 2013, he had returned to AJ Auxerre as managing director in December 2014.
