UEFA: CBS renews broadcasting rights to the European Cups in the USA (2024-2030) for $250m/year

Paramount Global, the parent company of US broadcasting group CBS and streaming platform Paramount+, has renewed its English-language broadcasting rights to the men's European club cups (Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League) in the USA over the 2024-2030 cycle, for $1.5bn (same amount in euros as of 22/08/2022), or $250m per season, according to the American business and financial news website Bloomberg on 19/08/2022.

The annual amount is nearly 2.5 times the current CBS contract (about $100m per year) over the 2021-2024 cycle. The Spanish-language rights in the United States, currently held by the TelevisaUnivision group, have not yet been marketed by Relevent Sports Group (a US promoter and media company), which is in charge of selling the rights to the men's European Cups in the territory (marketing in all other territories is handled by the Swiss agency TEAM Marketing).
