adidas: Kasper Rorsted to step down as CEO in 2023, 3 years before the end of his contract

Kasper Rorsted (60) and the supervisory board of adidas AG have "mutual agreed" that the Dane will step down as CEO "during the course of 2023," announced the German equipment manufacturer on 22/08/2022.

"The search for a succession has started. Kasper Rorsted will remain CEO until a successor has been appointed. Jointly with the supervisory board and the management board he will ensure a smooth transition at the helm of the company," explained adidas, a group which posted a turnover of €21.2bn in 2021, similar to in 2017 (€23.6bn in 2019 before the pandemic).

Kasper Rorsted, who has held the post since August 2016 after having been the CEO of the Henkel group (2008-2016), had initially extended his contract with adidas until 31/07/2026 on 04/08/2020.
