Australia: Nine Entertainment acquires media rights to 2021 (played in 2022) & 2023 Rugby World Cups

The privately-owned Australian group Nine Entertainment has acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights to the 2021 Women's Rugby World Cup (postponed from 08/10 to 12/11/2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic) hosted by New Zealand and the 2023 World Cup (hosted by France) for its streaming platform Stan Sport, as part of an agreement with World Rugby, announced the body on 23/08/2022.

"Sports fans will be able to watch live and uninterrupted coverage of every match from Rugby World Cup 2021 and Rugby World Cup 2023 as part of a comprehensive content offering that provide unparalleled access to the biggest events in rugby," said World Rugby.

"The addition of both Rugby World Cups further cements Stan's position as the home of rugby in Australia, with more world-class rugby available in the one place than ever before, including The Rugby Championship, Spring Tour (Autumn Nations Series), Six Nations and Super Rugby Pacific," added the body.
