Formula 1: "No French Grand Prix in 2023" (Stefano Domenicali, Formula One Group)

"There will be no (French) Grand Prix in 2023. We are still in discussions with the Federation and even the government," said Stefano Domenicali, president and CEO of Formula One Group, to the international media on 25/08/2022.

The race, held at the Paul Ricard circuit in Castlelet (Var) and organised by the Grand Prix de France - Le Castellet, made its return to the Formula One calendar in 2018 after a 22-year absence and 10 years after the last French Grand Prix was held in Nevers Magny-Cours (Nièvre). In Europe, Formula One Management has extended its agreement with the promoters of the Spanish Grand Prix until 2026, but the Monegasque and Belgian races have not yet been confirmed for 2023.

"We are still in discussions with the promoters of the Belgian Grand Prix and I will be careful not to say that this is the last edition of this event. For Monaco, discussions are continuing. And we will soon know more. We will not exceed 24 races per year.
