Aston Villa FC: end of the consultation period for the Villa Park redevelopment project

"Following a successful consultation period (nearly 10,000 participants in June and July 2022), we are pleased to announce that we will be submitting our proposals for the redevelopment and expansion of Villa Park at the end of the month. We have received a hugely positive response from the local community, our supporters and other stakeholders and are confident that this project will transform both the stadium and the local area," said Christian Purslow, CEO of Aston Villa FC (Premier League) on 25/08/2022.

In March 2022, the Birmingham club announced its intention to expand and renovate Villa Park by creating around 7,400 new seats, bringing the capacity of the stadium to more than 50,000 (compared to 42,657 currently). The project also includes improved accessibility to the stadium and the creation of "Villa Live", a "standalone multi-use entertainment, community, and retail venue."

Aston Villa are therefore preparing to submit a planning application to the local authorities, with a response expected by the end of 2022. If approved, work could begin at the end of 2023 and be…
