Qatar 2022: adidas unveils home & away shirts for its 5 qualified partner federations

adidas has unveiled the new home and away shirts for its national teams under contract participating in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, namely Argentina, Germany, Japan, Mexico and Spain, announced the German equipment manufacturer on 29/08/2022.

"adidas saw each federation kit as a canvas for creativity, and an opportunity to capture and express the spirit of each nation with design features influenced by key cultural touchpoints ranging from the ancient civilisations and Mixtec art of Mexico celebrated in the nation's away jersey to the origami crow inspiring Japan's home kit. Dynamic color spectrums represent each unique national identity, with progressive graphics inspired by the future," explained the German manufacturer. Notably, the purple colour of Argentina's away shirt represents gender equality.

These shirts, which make "performance and sustainability the top priority", are made from recycled polyester, including 50% plastic "intercepted on remote islands, beaches, coastal communities, and shorelines" in collaboration with the NGO Parley Ocean, which fights ocean pollution…
