SC Freiburg (Bundesliga) has a stadium project of 35,000 seats valued at €108m, the club announced on 07/10/2014. The club stated it would fund €70m for the infrastructure, and the remaining €38m will be provided by the City of Freiburg. This money will fund the construction of roads and 1,200 parking spaces and clean up the site.

The club wants to move in this enclosure in the summer of 2019. The goal of SC Freiburg, who currently play in Schwartzwald Stadion (capacity 24,000), is increasing its matchday revenues. The club is studying the possibility of implementing a future stadium on the Wolfswinkel site, near the airport of Freiburg. The club has an agreement for the field with the City. "It's only appropriate for the construction of a new football stadium site," said Dieter Salomon, the mayor of Freiburg. To validate the implementation of the project and the public funding, a referendum will be held with the Freiburg population on 01/02/2015.
