With €1.008bn spent on transfer fees since 2013, FC Inter Milan (Serie A TIM) are the thirteenth highest spending club in the European Top 5 leagues, three places ahead of FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) with €918m invested in player acquisitions, as the two clubs prepare to face each other in Group C on Matchday 1 of the 2022-23 UEFA Champions League at the San Siro (Milan, ITA) on Wednesday 07/09/2022 (kick-off at 21:00 CET).

The Bavarian club is ahead of its Italian rivals in the Top 20 "World's Most Valuable Soccer Teams" (excluding real estate) as established by the American business magazine Forbes in May 2022, in 5th place (valued at $4.27bn), while Inter are in 15th ($1bn).

The Bayern Munich brand is valued at €1.1bn according to Brand Finance and its "Football 50 2022" ranking published on 24/05/2022. The German club is ranked 6th compared to 14th place for FC Inter Milan.
