Study: England has the longest average club manager tenure (2.1 years) among Euro Top 5

Among the European Top 5 leagues, managers in England (2.1 years, 79.8 matches) and France (1.9 years, 72.2 matches) had the longest average tenure at clubs during the 2002-2014 period, according to a study by the Mexican media outlets El Economista and MXsports on 06/10/2014.

In Europe, Germany is third in average manager tenure during 2002-2014 at 1.7 years and 54.4 matches, followed by Spain (1.1 years, 41.8 matches) and Italy (1.07 years, 40.6 matches).

• Among the 10 leagues analysed in the study, the MLS (Major League Soccer) has the longest average tenure at 2.6 years and 88.4 matches, while clubs in Brazil have the least stability, changing managers every .4 years or 15.2 matches on average.
• The study analysed the manager tenure from 2002 to 2014 in the following first divisions:
