Sponsorship: Cazoo, shirt sponsor of Marseille & Lille, ends operations in Europe (outside the UK)

The company "will facilitate a structured closure for its customers, employees and suppliers" and will now focus on its core UK market.

Cazoo is the main shirt sponsor of seven European Top 5 clubs, including two from the Ligue 1 Uber Eats: LOSC Lille and Olympique de Marseille (estimated to be worth at least €5m per season). The withdrawal of the British company from the European market could mean the end of these agreements.

The UK company had announced the launch of a "strategic review" after posting a half-year loss (01/01 to 30/06/2022) of £243m (€281.6m), compared to £100m (€116.3m) over the same period in 2021, on 02/08/2022. By 2021, Cazoo had already accumulated £550m (€655m) in losses, compared to £103m (€113.8m) in 2020.
