LaLiga: creation of a joint venture with GXR for the management of media rights in the MENA & India

LaLiga is creating a joint venture with Dubai (United Arab Emirates) based esports, gaming and entertainment company Galaxy Racer (GXR) to "transform the sport league's brand presence in the MENA region and Indian subcontinent" over 15 years, announced the Spanish body on 06/09/2022.

"The joint venture positions GXR as LaLiga's local partner in the MENA market and Indian subcontinent, setting up a historic first for the world of sports rights in the territories which is projected to yield over €3bn in revenue. The joint venture will act as the media rights agency," explained LaLiga.

"LaLiga and GXR will each hold a 50% stake in the new joint venture. GXR has over 500 million followers worldwide - and a platform for growth that leverages expertise in six key verticals: licensing, content creation, esports, influencer/talent management, merchandising and music," added the body.
