China: China Mobile (Migu) acquires streaming rights to the European Cups for 2022-23

China Mobile, a Chinese telecommunications operator, has acquired the non-exclusive streaming rights in China to the UEFA European Cups for the 2022-23 season, according to Chinese media reports on 08/09/2022. The matches will be broadcast via "Migu Video", China Mobile's OTT platform.

The rights include the broadcasting of Champions League, Europa League, Europa Conference League and Youth League (U19 Champions League) matches. The agreement began this week with the first matchdays of the European Cups, from 06 to 08/09/2022.

The games in these competitions on the opening matchdays were also broadcast on the streaming platforms Tencent, iQiyi Sports and Youku. These three platforms held the non-exclusive broadcasting rights in China for the European Cups for the 2021-22 season and are expected to extend them for the 2022-23 season, according to specialised media.
