United Kingdom/Elizabeth II: Premier League matches as well as others postponed as a sign of respect

"As a mark of respect, following the passing of Her Majesty the Queen, English football has united to postpone all football fixtures between 09-11/09/2022. This follows Government guidance, which encourages sporting organisations to show respect in an appropriate way," announced The Football Association on 09/09/2022.

The Leeds FC - Nottingham Forest FC match, which was originally scheduled for Monday 12/09/2022, has also been postponed. No further date for the rescheduling has yet been given. "Further updates regarding Premier League fixtures during the period of mourning will be provided in due course," said The FA and the Premier League.

The decision, which also affects the Women Super League and other women's football competitions, is being followed by the English Football League, organiser of the English professional divisions at the lower levels and the Carabao Cup.

In the United Kingdom, the Scottish and Northern Irish and Welsh Football Associations and Leagues have also postponed all matches scheduled for 11/09/2022.
