The average audience for each of the 64 matches of the 2014 World Cup (Brazil, 12/06 to 13/07/2014) is expected to approach 200 million viewers, according to preliminary figures from the American research firm Futures Sport + Entertainment, released on 05/10/2014.

This average represents a total cumulative audience of 12.8 billion viewers for the World Cup in Brazil. With 200 million viewers on average per game, the audience of Brazil in 2014 would increase by 6% compared to the 2010 World Cup (South Africa, 188.4 million viewers on average per game), which itself had enjoyed a growth of 6% compared to the 2006 World Cup (Germany, 177.7 million average viewers).
