Licensing: UEFA club competitions to be integrated into the Football Manager video game from 2023

The Champions League, Europa League, Europa Conference League and UEFA Super Cup will be included in Football Manager 2023, the annual iteration of the club management video game published by SEGA Sammy (JPN), which is scheduled for release on 08/11/2022, announced UEFA on 12/09/2022.

UEFA club competitions will thus be included for the first time in the game developed by the British studio Sports Interactive. The agreement also includes the rights to the Women's Champions League, which "will debut in a future version of the game," explained the body.

UEFA also has a licensing agreement with the US publisher EA Sports (Electronic Arts), which has held exclusive rights to the body's competitions for its football video game FIFA (to be renamed EA Sports FC from July 2023) since 2018, and extended them "for several seasons" on 02/02/2021.
