France: L'Équipe renews TV rights to the Copa del Rey, Supercopa de España & DFB-Pokal (2022-2025)

La chaine L'Équipe has renewed its exclusive free-to-air broadcasting rights in France to the Copa del Rey, Supercopa de España and DFB-Pokal for the next three seasons, i.e. until 2024-25, announced the French free DTT channel on 15/09/2022.

The channel has held the rights to the DFB-Pokal since the 2019-20 season, and to the Copa del Rey and Supercopa de España since 2020-21.

The 2020, 2021 and 2022 editions of the Supercopa de España were hosted by Saudi Arabia, which reportedly paid the RFEF €30m per season to host the competition, according to Spanish media. This agreement has been renewed for the 2023-2029 cycle. Under the new agreement, Saudi Arabia will pay €40m per season to host the competition according to media reports. Since 2020, the Supercopa de España has had a 'final four' format (Spanish champions and runners-up, Copa del Rey winners and runners-up).

• The channel will broadcast the DFB-Pokal from 18/10/2022, while the Copa del Rey will begin in January 2023.
