"The idea of a Serie A all-star game is worth considering. I still remember fondly the Europe - Brazil game in August 1982," said Lorenzo Casini, president of the Lega Serie A to the Italian news agency ANSA on 14/09/2022.

"We need to recapture this spirit, involving clubs, presidents, sports directors and coaches, and of course also journalists and fans. In the next few weeks we will study the project with the clubs in a general assembly and weigh up the pros and cons," continued the Italian leader.

"Many aspects must be taken into account, from the calendar to the format, including 'special competitions' such as free-kick competitions, but also opportunities for young talent and the promotion of the values underlying football and sport. The Serie A must also be a model for future generations," added Lorenzo Casini.
