France: FFF to revise the agreement on player image rights "as soon as possible"

"After conclusive discussions in the presence of the French team's executives, the president, the coach and marketing director, the French Football Federation (FFF) undertakes to revise, as soon as possible, the inherent agreement on image rights that binds it to its players in the national team," announced the body on 19/09/2022.

This commitment follows an announcement by Kylian Mbappé (FRA, Paris Saint-Germain), via a statement sent a few hours earlier to AFP on 19/09/2022, that he would not be taking part in the photo session scheduled for Tuesday 20/09/2022 with the French team (in which he did in fact take part), after the FFF refused to modify the agreement on the image rights of players. The international striker and his representatives had indicated that they "deeply regretted that no agreement could, as requested, be reached ahead of the 2022 World Cup."
