Financial fair play: the Court of Brussels (BEL) receives a "request for interim measures"

A "request for interim measures" has been brought before the Court of First Instance of Brussels (BEL) by Belgian lawyers Jean-Louis Dupont (pictured) and Martin Hissel against the rules of UEFA's (Union of European Football Associations) financial fair play on 10/10/2014.

This application is intended to prohibit UEFA (until a decision is rendered on the merits of the case) "to move to the second phase of the implementation of the requirement of financial balance" -- that is to say, to force UEFA to stick to the rule as currently applied (possibility of a deficit of up to €45m), rather than imposing on clubs, as provided in the FFP regulations, a hardening of the rule (authorising only €30m deficit).
