Rugby: Sky Italia and Rai acquire rights to broadcast the 2023 World Cup in Italy

The pay-TV operator Sky Italia and Italian public broadcasting group Rai have acquired the broadcasting rights in Italy to the 2023 Rugby World Cup, announced the two groups on 21/09/2022. Sky Italia has also acquired the TV rights to the 2021 Women's Rugby World Cup (postponed to 2022), which will be held in New Zealand from 08/10 to 12/11/2022.

Sky Italia will broadcast the 2023 Rugby World Cup matches in full, as well as some of the 2021 Women's Rugby World Cup matches (at least one game per matchday live), including the Italian national team's matches. The matches will be broadcast on its channels and via its NOW streaming platform.

Rai will broadcast all 2023 Rugby World Cup matches free-to-air. The broadcasting group had already acquired the rights to the 2021 Women's World Cup (all matches featuring the Italian national team as well as all knockout matches).
