France: "Ligue 1 broadcasting rights tender will be launched in autumn 2023" (Vincent Labrune, LFP)

"The call for tenders for the broadcasting rights to Ligue 1 (cycle from the 2024-25 season) will be launched in the autumn of 2023," announced Vincent Labrune, president of the LFP, at the first "Demain le Sport" conference organised by Radio France, France Télévisions and the L'Équipe group, in Paris (FRA), on 22/09/2022.

"It's up to us to make the call for tenders format and Ligue 1 more interesting in order to attract FAANG companies. This is a pivotal season for us because, in addition to being the one preceding the tender, it will be decisive in the calculation of the UEFA coefficient rankings for the 2024-25 season, which will introduce new places in the European Cups," said Labrune.

"In order to help French clubs perform well in European Cups, we will redistribute 100% of the international rights revenue only to the clubs participating in them. The distribution will be based on their performance on the European stage. We will be the first league to choose this distribution method," added the LFP's president.
