Spain: Sockatyes becomes a partner of the LFP and allows clubs to have sponsors on socks

The British company Sockatyes has partnered with the LFP (Spanish Professional Football League) and will allows club, through its technology using elastic plastic bands, to wear sponsors on the socks of players during matches of the Liga BBVA and the Liga Adelante (Spanish second division), announced the league on 08/10/2014.

Atlético Madrid, RCD Espanyol, Villarreal, Málaga CF and Getafe CF in the Liga BBVA and Real Betis in the Liga Adelante have already agreed to use the advertising concept of the company based in Stoke on Trent (UK). Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Valencia CF do not wish to use them. The LFP negotiated collective contracts with advertisers, which must not conflict with sponsors already under contract with each club.

  • Atlético Madrid will be the first club to wear a sponsor on the socks during the match against RCD Espanyol (Matchday 8 of Liga BBVA), on 19/10/2014.
  • Sockatyes is a partner of Puma.
