The largest buyer from Serie A TIM clubs is the Italian first division itself during the 2014 summer transfer market (01/07 to 01/09/2014). The league generated 44% of revenues and 39.3% of its sales within the Serie A, amounting to €127.9m.

Unlike the four other major European leagues (Liga BBVA, Barclays Premier League, Bundesliga and Ligue 1), the club that spent the most in Serie A in the summer of 2014 is not a foreign club coming from the Liga BBVA or the Premier League, the first two championships in the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) coefficient rankings. AS Roma spent the most on players from other Italian clubs.

Serie A is the only championship where the top 5 most expensive transfers in the summer was made between the two clubs within the league, not with a club from one of the four major European leagues. The Italian first division was also European Top 5 league that spent the least in the other four European counterparts.
