WLF/FIFPro: "Ground-breaking agreement for a global social dialogue in professional football"

"FIFPro and the World Leagues Forum (WLF) have signed a ground-breaking agreement to take greater responsibility as social partners to strengthen collectively-agreed solutions in the football industry and contribute to its viability and growth," announced the two organisations on 26/09/2022.

This "Global Labour Agreement" (GLA), signed at the headquarters of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Geneva (SUI), "cements at the world level the industrial relationships that many leagues and player unions have built in domestic markets. It commits to promoting and protecting the basic principles of collective industrial relations between the representatives of employers and employees," explained WLF and FIFPro.

"With the support of the ILO, the agreement will stabilize the professional football environment by strengthening employer and employee representatives on a worldwide level and promoting fair conditions of employment in football.
