European Top 5: Valencia CF fields the youngest team in 2022-23 (CIES)

Valencia CF (LaLiga Santander) is the club with the lowest average age of players in its line-up since the start of the 2022-23 season among the European Top 5 leagues, according to the CIES Football Observatory's "Weekly Post" published on 26/09/2022.

With an average age of 23.9 years, the Spanish club is ahead of VfB Stuttgart (Bundesliga, 24.2 years) and Southampton FC (Premier League, 24.4 years), who complete the podium. Stade de Reims, in sixth place, is the leading Ligue 1 Uber Eats club with an average age of 24.8 years, just ahead of AS Monaco FC (7^th, 24.8 years).

Four other Premier League clubs are in the Top 20: Arsenal FC (4^th, 24.4 years old), Leeds United FC (8^th, 25.2 years old), Nottingham Forest FC (12^th, 25.5 years old) and Everton FC (18^th, 26.6 years old).

Conversely, VfL Bochum (Bundesliga, 29.8 years) have the highest average age of players fielded so far this season, ahead of Sevilla FC (LaLiga Santander, 29.2 years) and FC Inter Milan (Serie A TIM, 29.1 years).
