Athletic Club Bilbao: a turnover of €115.4m (+24%) and net loss of €10.6m in 2021-22

Athletic Club Bilbao (LaLiga Santander) posted a turnover (excluding capital gains player transfers) of €115.4m for the 2022 financial year (from 01/07/2021 to 30/06/2022), up 24% compared to the previous year (€101.9m), announced the Basque club 25/09/2022.

The loss of revenue caused by Covid-19 since March 2020, the start date of the pandemic, has been €49.8m, affecting the financial years 2019-20 (-€8.7m), 2020-21 (-€37.7m) and 2021-22 (-€3.5m). In this unfavourable environment, during the financial year 2021-22, the club has managed to reduce its operating losses and its negative net result. The negative result after tax has been reduced from €25.4m in the financial year 202-21 to €10.6m, thus reducing the loss by 58.2%, of which €3.5m correspond to losses due to the effects of Covid-19 and €5.7m to the allocation of provisions to cover future expenses," explained Athletic Bilbao.
