Formula 1: China Telecom acquires streaming rights in China for the end of the 2022 season

The telecommunications operator China Telecom has acquired the streaming rights in China to Formula One for the end of the 2022 season, announced Formula One Group on 29/09/2022.

"In addition to the existing F1 broadcast offering in China, fans will have a new way to watch a Grand Prix weekend with every practice session, qualifying session, and all six remaining races available to view across multiple devices. China Telecom will also enable viewers to switch seamlessly between additional feeds, including the Pit Lane Channel, Driver Tracker and On-board Camera channels," explained Formula 1.

"We will make full use of the advantages of 5G technology with large bandwidth, low latency and cloud network integration to subvert the tradition of producing and broadcasting sports events, thus to provide our users with an unprecedented and immersive audio-visual experience of Formula 1," said Lu Weilun, assistant general manager at New Guomai Digital Culture, a subsidiary of China Telecom.
