UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) has extended its partnership with the Swiss company Sportradar, specialising in monitoring sports betting and supplying sports data, for four more years on 09/10/2014. The partnership is now scheduled to end after the 2018-19 season.

In July 2009, UEFA set up the BFDS (Betting Fraud Detection System) system for monitoring and analysing the betting activities in European competitions. Sportradar is responsible for the use of BFDS and monitoring sports betting related to the first two professional divisions and domestic cups in each of the 54 member associations of the European body, or over 30,000 matches per season.

  • In the 2015-2019 period, the partnership will also see UEFA use the e-learning tutorials of Sportradar about preventing fraud in sport. These tutorials will be available to the players and teams participating in the final stages of the male and female U17 and U19 competitions organised by the European body.
