Serie A TIM: clubs approve guidelines for the marketing of TV rights (2024-2027 cycle)

"The clubs have unanimously approved the guidelines for the centralised marketing of audiovisual rights for the 2024-2027 period (three seasons), the first step in the process that now consists of sending them to the authorities," announced the Lega Serie A on 28/09/2022.

The Lega Serie A and all Italian professional sports leagues have been able to market their broadcasting rights without any time constraints on international markets, since 05/05/2022. This decision came the Italian Council of Ministers approved changes to the Melandri law, which limited the duration of TV rights contracts abroad to three years.

A new joint stock company that brings together the broadcasting rights and commercial assets of the Italian league could soon be created. One of the main objectives of the new entity would be to increase revenues from international media rights.
