FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) posted a turnover of €1.017bn for the 2021-22 financial year, 2.3 times more than FC Inter Milan (Serie A TIM) which posted a turnover of €439.6m over the period, as the two teams prepare to face each other at the San Siro (Milan, ITA) on Matchday 3 of Group C of the 2022-23 UEFA Champions League, on Tuesday 04/10/2022 (kick-off at 21:00 CET).

With €1.811bn spent on transfer fees since 2013, Barcelona are the second highest spending club among those participating in the European Top 5 leagues, eleven places ahead of Inter, who have invested €1.008bn in player acquisitions over the same period, according to a study published by the CIES Football Observatory on 02/09/2022.

The Catalan club spent €626m building its 2022-23 squad, more than double what Inter paid for their current squad, which cost an estimated €262m, according to a CIES study published on 05/09/2022.

Since the start of the 2022-23 season, Barça have also been 13th in the list of European Top 5 clubs with the youngest starting line-ups (25.5 years on average), while Inter have an average…
