The European Commission and UEFA sign an "Arrangement for Cooperation" until 2017

José Manuel Barroso, president of the European Commission, Androulla Vassiliou, European commissioner for sport and Michel Platini, president of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) signed an "Arrangement for Cooperation" for the 2015-2017 period, in Brussels (BEL) on 14/10/2014.

The European Commission and UEFA agree to work together in "structured cooperation in key policy areas, such as "discrimination, match-fixing, third-party player ownership or violence."

"We are also committed to maximising the impact that sport can have on society as a catalyst for social change in areas such as improving health and gender equality," stated the European Commission.
