Instagram: Real Madrid, Barça & PSG, the most followed clubs in the European Top 5 (October 2022)

With 125.9 million followers, Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) remain the most followed European club on the social network Instagram, ahead of FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander, 112.5 million) and Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats, 63 million), according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 03/10/2022.

The Madrid club, winners of the Champions League and Spanish league in 2021-22, posted the best increase in absolute value with 1.6 million additional followers accumulated during September 2022. FC Barcelona (+807,297) and Paris Saint-Germain (+736,343) complete the podium.

The best percentage growth was posted by Club Atletico Osasuna (LaLiga Santander), who registered an 11.2% increase in their number of followers. Brentford FC (Premier League, +4.5%) posted the second best percentage growth over the period and FC Lorient (Ligue 1 Uber Eats, +4.3%) the third best.

Two clubs (out of 98) posted a drop in their number of followers: Atalanta BC (Serie A TIM, -906 followers) and most notably Stade Brestois 29 (Ligue 1 Uber Eats), who lost over 82,000. This loss can be explained…
