esports: Koi (ESP, Kosmos group) & Rogue (USA) to team-up to play in the LEC

Rogue, an esports team owned by US company Infinite Reality, and Koi, a Spanish team co-founded by streamer Ibai Llanos and investment group Kosmos owned by Gerard Piqué, are creating a joint venture to have a common esports team that will compete in the European League of Legends (LEC, 10 teams) organised by Riot Games from 2023 onwards, announced the two entities on 06/10/2022.

Rogue has reportedly sold 40% of its LEC slot to Koi for €20m, according to specialised media today. While the team is expected to operate in the LEC under the name "Koi", it is Rogue, whose LoL team is based in Berlin (GER), that is expected to continue to oversee the management of the team's operations.

As Spring Split 2022 champions, Rogue are participating in the LoL 2022 World Championships (Worlds) held in the USA from 07/10 to 05/11/2022. The Americans have been playing in the LEC since 2019.
