"For Qatar 2022, I have not been influenced. I was not pressured by the President of the Republic at the time (Nicolas Sarkozy). Voting, in my case, has been transparent, and we have always said that if there is the slightest hint of corruption, then there would be a new vote. But for now, we do not know," said Michel Platini, president of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations), on 15/10/2014.
