3.Liga: Deutsche Telekom extends its media rights in Germany for 2023-2027 (€26.2m per year)

The telecommunications operator Deutsche Telekom has extended its full broadcasting rights in Germany to the 3.Liga for four seasons over the 2023-2027 cycle, announced the DFB on 12/10/2022.

The annual rights fee is 67% higher than the current cycle and will be €26.2m gross per season, totalling €104.8m over four years, according to the DFB. All matches will be broadcast on the OTT platform Magenta Sports. "Magenta not only holds the live broadcast rights for pay-TV, but can also broadcast matches free-to-air and sublicense them to free-TV partners. According to the contract, at least ten matches per season must be broadcast free-to-air," added the DFB.

Deutsche Telekom holds the rights to broadcast the entire 3.Liga in Germany for the 2018-2023 cycle. The German audiovisual group ARD also broadcasts at least 86 matches per season free-to-air over the same period.
