esports: Mastercard extends as a global partner of Riot Games' League of Legends circuit

Mastercard, a US payment solutions company, has extended its role as a global partner of the League of Legends video game esports circuit "for several years," announced its creator, Riot Games, on 12/10/2022.

The announcement was made official at the "Priceless Table" event, a "VIP experience" organised by Mastercard in New York (USA) on the sidelines of the 2022 LoL World Championship (Worlds), whose group stage and finals are being played in the United States from 29/10 to 05/11/2022.

As a partner of LoL Esports (the Riot Games company that markets the LoL esports circuit) since 2018, Mastercard will continue to be an official partner of the three main annual League of Legends events: the Worlds, the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) and the All Star (including the opening ceremony).

As part of this partnership, the US company's logo is visible in-game during the official matches of these three competitions. Mastercard is also rolling out bank cards and co-branded products in the LoL Esports colours. The group has had a Twitter account dedicated to this partnership named…
