FC Porto: a turnover of €143.7m (-6.5%) and net profit of €20.7m in 2021-22

FC Porto (Liga Portugal Bwin) has posted a turnover (excluding transfers) of €143.7m for the 2022 financial year (01/07/2021 to 30/06/2022), down 6.5% compared to the 2021 financial year (€153.5m), announced the club on 11/10/2022.

The Portuguese club saw its revenue from European competitions fall from €73.7m in 2020-21 (Champions League quarter-finalists) to €46.9m in 2021-22 (eliminated in the group stage). However, it was able to count on €83.7m in capital gains from player transfers, 38% more than in the previous financial year (€60.6m). The club also posted a 65% increase in sponsorship revenue, which rose from €15.7m to €25.9m in one year.

FC Porto posted an operating loss of €1.2m, versus €11.7m the previous financial year. The net result was €20.7m, compared to €19.2m the previous year. "FC Porto's consolidated net profit is clearly positive for the second consecutive year. This is mainly due to the return of matchday revenues to values close to those before the pandemic," explained the club.
